MacMod Pro allows you to compose and edit professional-quality songs called Mods. Mods are equivalently MIDI songs with the instruments written into the song itself, eliminating the need for extra hardware to play them. External speakers are recommended to enhance the music but are not required.
Registering MacMod Pro
MacMod Pro is shareware and modestly priced at $25 US currency. To register, choose ‘Register’ from the Apple menu and click the ‘Print Registration Form’ button. After you fill out some basic information, a registration form will be printed.

What's new in version 5.01?
Improved Staff Editor
Now you can drag a note to a different pitch by simply option-clicking it. Or change a note's instrument by control-clicking it.
Print Sheet Music
Now MacMod Pro allows you to print your music as sheet music. Just select "Sheet Music" in the print dialog.
Import Midi, S3M, MTM, XM, 669, and OKTA
MacMod Pro 5.01 allows you to import many file types. I am still streamlining this feature to work even better.
Enhanced Copland-inspired Interface
The improved interface lets you drag songs, instruments, and sequence slots around. Option-clicking copies the item.
All-New Hypertext Help System
Finally MacMod Pro has a help system that is truly innovative. This new hypertext system actually interfaces with MacMod Pro to support "do it for me" capabilities.
New Music Drivers
The very latest music drivers went into MacMod Pro 5.01 including support for stereo delay and reverberation.
Many, Many Bug Fixes
They always creep in, and I always do my best to stomp them out.
SoundLib 3.1 BUG
SoundLib 3.1 is BUGGY. If you are using SoundLib 3.1 (if it is installed in your Extensions folder), you will have to REPLACE it with SoundLib 3.2 or REMOVE it from the Extension Folder ! If SoundLib is installed in your Extensions folder, get info on it and check the version.
The bug will ONLY happen on a PPC Macintosh with SoundManager 3.1.
I recommend that you install QuickTime 2.5, which includes SoundManager 3.2.1, for best results.
It is available from Apple at www.apple.com.
